Oriental Orthodox Con-Celebration held on Feb 4th, 2006

The Oriental Orthodox Churches in full communion with one another held a joint Qurbono service, or "con-celebration," at the Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in Teaneck, New Jersey. Our Malankara Church hosted the event, with Bishops from other churches reading from our Malayalam service book in English. The Bishops in attendance were:

H.G.Mor Severios Abraham - Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church
H.E.Archbishop Khajag Barsamian - Armenian Orthodox Church
H.G.Bishop David - Coptic Orthodox Church
H.E.Archbishop Cyril Aphrem - Syriac Orthodox Church
H.E.Archbishop Matthias - Ethiopian Orthodox Church
H.E.Archbishop - Titus Yeldho - Malankara Syrian Orthodox Church
H.E.Archbishop - Gregorios Yohanna - Syriac Orthodox Church

Many of our youth participated and our new Northeast regional choir group did a marvelous job.  Pictures will be posted as they become available.

A report indicates that over 100 people attended the service, with some hailing from Tampa. Several youth submitted their contact information. God make them fruitful! Pictures to come...

Ninevah Lent Feb. 6-8, 2006

Partake in the fast commemorating the events at Ninevah associated with Jonah. God so loved the Ninevites that he led a reluctant Jonah by the hand to the city gates (via a "great fish") to preach repentance and the forgiveness of sins. The city was saved. Recall that Ninevah is in present day Iraq. Pray that our Christian brothers and sisters and the entire nation are saved from their present trials!
