Question 4 Vol 2 > "What's it worth?"

Have you every pondered why things cost what they do? For example, why is gold (still) valuable? Why not steel, or aluminum? Do we calculate the value of material things differently than moral or spiritual items? What's a human life worth? For example, if driving was forbidden, and no one had cars, then drunk driving would be impossible and no one would die from DWI. What implications are there for society given this line of reasoning?
